Pocketalk adopted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications

SOURCENEXT Corporation (Headquarters: Shiodome City Center 33F, 1-5-2 Shimbashi Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO and President: Noriyuki Matsuda) announced today that our “POCKETALK S” has been adopted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications as a tool for multilingual support and dissemination and enlightenment of technology.

“POCKETALK S” has traditionally adopted multilingual speech translation technology developed by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications as part of its translation engine. For languages such as Asian languages, we utilize a translation engine with improved accuracy through the “Translation Bank” operated by NICT in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.

The purpose of the “POCKETALK S” provided to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications this time is to support multilingual support in Japan and overseas, and to disseminate and enlighten NICT’s development technology. This product has some specifications different from those sold in general, such as utilizing NICT’s translation engine for more important languages than before.
