Established in 2018, the Regenerative Medical Centre (RMC) is Mongolia’s leading specialized facility in reproductive and IVF (In vitro fertilization) treatment. With a dedicated team of about 30 healthcare professionals conducting 500 to 600 treatment cycles annually, RMC has assisted in bringing nearly 1,500 children into the world. 

To foster international scientific exchange, RMC hosts a major international conference every two years, welcoming researchers and clinicians from the United States, Hungary, China, Japan, and beyond. For its 4th biennial symposium, RMC selected Pocketalk’s Sentio to deliver real-time AI interpretation for international participants. In this interview, RMC Representative Ariunaa Ganbold shares her experience using Sentio to facilitate global medical dialogue, streamline conference operations, and eliminate language barriers.

Q. Please tell us about Regenerative Medical Centre’s activities and the scope of your international symposium.

A. Our center was founded in 2018 as a specialized medical institution focusing on reproductive and IVF treatment in Mongolia. Today, we operate with a staff of around 30 professionals and perform between 500 and 600 treatment cycles every year, which has contributed to the birth of nearly 1,500 children. 

Every two years, we organize a scientific conference bringing together international experts from countries such as the United States, Hungary, China, and Japan. This year marked our 4th edition, making it one of the premier international gatherings in our specialized medical field in Mongolia.

Q. How did you learn about Sentio, what motivated you to choose it for your conference?

A. In late August of this year, a colleague attended a medical conference on stem cell research in Japan and observed Sentio in operation. He was particularly impressed by how accurately the tool translated complex medical terminology and specialized concepts from Japanese, and suggested we consider it for our symposium. 

When planning our conference, we recognized that traditional translation methods would require sourcing specialized medical interpreters and setting up dedicated translation booths and headsets, which adds substantial logistical and financial demands. Q. How did you assess the operational ease and translation quality of Sentio during the symposium?

A. The setup was remarkably straightforward—there were no complicated configurations required, and we were able to launch it immediately. Translation from English into Mongolian performed smoothly, allowing attendees to follow the underlying content and technical ideas without difficulty. Overall, the lecture content flowed naturally, and attendees were able to view and follow the material comfortably on screen.

Before the session, a 1-page instruction was prepared and distributed on each seat for guests.

Q. What impact did Sentio have on your conference operations compared to traditional translation methods?

A. Sentio significantly simplified our overall translation workflow. Securing interpreters who possess deep familiarity with specialized medical vocabulary is often highly challenging, and renting specialized translation hardware introduces extra technical management. 

Sentio eliminated those barriers entirely. It gave international guests and local attendees the flexibility to follow presentations in real time regardless of their native language or English fluency. For a private medical clinic hosting an international symposium, it made the entire event far more manageable and accessible.

Q. Looking ahead, how do you view the potential for AI translation solutions in medical conferences across Mongolia?

A. Across Mongolia, international medical conferences take place regularly across various clinical specialties. While English is widely studied, second-language fluency can vary among medical professionals, making accurate and accessible translation essential for technical discussions. 

Based on our experience, there is strong potential for AI-driven translation tools like Sentio to support future scientific gatherings, helping researchers and clinicians share knowledge freely without language barriers.

Q. Finally, what message would you share with other companies or organizations considering Sentio?
